“The secret to sleep isn’t forcing yourself to do it—it’s getting your brain to stop fighting against it. Given the opportunity, your body will do what it needs.”

~ Adrien Sala, WikiSleep Founder

ABOUT WIKISLEEP

WikiSleep was created by award-winning writer and producer Adrien Sala, born out of his own struggles with sleep. Like so many others, he wrestled with insomnia—his mind racing at night with financial worries, work stress, relationships and even those small, lingering embarrassments that resurface at the worst times. Sleep felt just out of reach, no matter how tired he was.

In his search for relief, Adrien turned to podcasts. Engaging stories helped distract his restless mind, allowing his body to naturally drift into sleep. But the jarring interruptions—ads, sudden volume shifts—kept pulling him back awake. The very thing that was supposed to help was working against him.

Determined to create a better solution, Adrien combined his experience as a writer and producer with his deep understanding of mindfulness. Having practiced meditation extensively in his 20s—including Vipassana retreats in Nepal and India and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) courses in Canada—he knew how powerful focused attention could be in calming the mind. He used that knowledge to shape WikiSleep: a sleep tool built on the simple yet effective idea of diversion.

WikiSleep provides stories that are interesting enough to gently pull listeners away from anxious thoughts, but soothing enough to lull them into sleep. Every piece of content is crafted with care, free from distractions like ads or volume spikes. As the creator, Adrien oversees nearly every aspect of WikiSleep, with support from a small team of talented developers and narrators.

His goal? To make falling asleep feel natural again—no stress, no overthinking, just rest.
